Job Summary
The Associate Producer helps the newscast producers with various tasks which include writing stories and other content creates graphics edits video and posts video to the website.
- Writes stories
- Creates graphics
- Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
- Edits video
- Pitch story ideas
- Helps manage various news segments
- Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms
- Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
- Trains for the ability to produce newscasts for broadcast
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Journalism or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Proficiency with computers telephones copiers scanners fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift including weekends and on holidays
