1. To provide research assistance to Professor Mohit Aroras ongoing research projects which mainly involve processing and analyzing documents and relevant data. The student will be provided guidance and instructions by Professor Arora (the supervisor). Some knowledge of Statistics and Econometrics and coding skills is expected (preferably on R) but on the job learning will also be an important component of this position.
2. To help with miscellaneous office tasks such as printing proof-reading printed material for classes and help with typesetting (comfort with Latex or Lyx is a plus)

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Conduct scholarly literature reviews on selected topics
Conduct research into relevant and important materials for example news articles archives or policy documents related to research topics of interest
Conduct analyses on the text of research materials
Organize datasets and research outputs under instructions of the supervisor
Perform some analyses and data classifications under instructions of the supervisor
Write up paragraphs of data descriptions summaries and/or analyses under instructions of the supervisor
Help with office work such as printing
Assisting with proof-reading printed material for classes and typesetting documents
Qualifications:
-Ability to commit to maintaining confidentiality of the work within and beyond the scope of this assignment
Proficiency in a programming language (such as R)
Knowledge of statistics and econometrics
Good writing and typesetting skills
Good communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Integrity thoroughness and honesty
Location: Schenectady NY
