Facilities Site Engineer - Ireland

Position Overview

Operational management maintenance and optimization of building systems across Irish portfolio

Hands-on technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems required

Focus on optimal performance energy efficiency and regulatory compliance

Key Responsibilities

Systems Management & Maintenance

Oversee operation and maintenance of HVAC electrical plumbing fire safety and building automation systems

Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance scheduling

Coordinate reactive maintenance activities

Monitor building performance metrics and implement optimization strategies

Technical Project Leadership

Lead facilities improvement projects from conception through completion

Manage system upgrades retrofits and new installations

Prepare technical specifications and manage contractor relationships

Ensure compliance with Irish building regulations and industry standards

Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external service providers

Compliance & Safety Management

Ensure full compliance with Irish health and safety regulations building codes and environmental standards

Maintain comprehensive maintenance records

Conduct safety audits and manage statutory inspections and certifications

Implement and monitor safety protocols for all facilities operations

Strategic Planning & Reporting

Develop annual maintenance budgets and capital expenditure plans

Prepare detailed technical reports on building performance and maintenance activities

Provide improvement recommendations for senior management

Analyze operational data to identify cost reduction and performance enhancement opportunities

Essential Requirements

Education & Professional Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (mandatory)

Professional registration or working toward chartered status with Engineers Ireland (preferred)

Relevant facilities management certifications (advantageous)

Technical Expertise

Minimum 3-5 years experience in building services engineering or facilities management

Comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems (HVAC power distribution lighting BMS)

Proficiency in reading technical drawings specifications and system documentation

Regulatory Knowledge

Thorough knowledge of Irish building regulations and health and safety legislation

Understanding of energy management principles and sustainability practices

Familiarity with statutory inspection requirements and certification processes

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building management systems (BMS)

Previous experience in commercial facilities or GMP facilities environment
