Job Summary

1.0 FTE Science Teacher

JL Jackson Secondary

This is a temporary assignment effective January 28 2026 to June 30 2026

This assignment consists of teaching Environmental Science 11 2 blocks of Science 10 and 1 block of Academic Flex.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science or Education (Secondary emphasis preferred);
Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch.

Teachers applying should possess the following attributes:

academic credentials and/or experience in teaching the above subjects;
a working knowledge of the current curriculum for the above subjects;
demonstrated successful experience teaching at Secondary level;
commitment to fostering a collaborative and cooperative working environment;
committed to stimulating student interest and confidence in learning;
evidence of ability to motivate secondary students;
demonstrated use of a variety of instructional and assessment strategies;
excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment with other staff members;
commitment to involving parents in the learning of their children.
