WHO YOU ARE:
An experienced AWS Infrastructure Engineer to join our cloud platform team. This role is responsible for designing maintaining and optimizing AWS infrastructure to support engineering teams building scalable secure and cost-efficient platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on knowledge of AWS architecture infrastructure-as-code and cloud cost management as well as strong problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical challenges.
WHAT YOULL DO:
- Partner with engineering and platform teams to design and implement robust secure and scalable AWS infrastructure solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced AWS infrastructure issues across compute networking storage and deployment pipelines.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams adopting AWS services and best practices.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Drive cost optimization efforts by analyzing usage patterns implementing right-sizing strategies and leveraging AWS cost management tools.
- Design and enforce security best practices including identity management (IAM) encryption network segmentation and compliance monitoring.
- Collaborate with the Security team to ensure environments meet governance and compliance requirements.
- Automate operational tasks to improve reliability scalability and efficiency of AWS infrastructure.
- Stay current on new AWS services and features and evaluate their potential benefits to the organization.
- Contribute to documentation runbooks and playbooks for infrastructure deployment and troubleshooting.
WHAT YOULL NEED:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or equivalent experience.
- 47 years of experience designing building and maintaining AWS environments at scale.
- Proven expertise in architecting and troubleshooting AWS-based infrastructure for production systems.
- Advanced knowledge of core AWS services (EC2 ECS/EKS S3 RDS VPC IAM CloudFront Lambda).
- Proficiency with Terraform CloudFormation or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Strong understanding of networking security and automation in AWS.
- Experience implementing monitoring and logging solutions (CloudWatch CloudTrail Datadog Prometheus etc.).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Competence in scripting languages (Python Bash or PowerShell).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (Preferred)
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty (Preferred)
- AWS Certified Security Specialty (Preferred)
- Excellent analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive mindset and passion for continuous improvement.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence AWS design and operations decisions.
