About the job:

Based in Ulm Germany you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATOs Digital Endeavour. You will join CSU Brunssum which enables end-to-end CIS services as it installs operates maintains and supports the full range of CIS capabilities during peacetime crisis and war throughout its allocated Area of Responsibility (AOR) and as otherwise directed.

Under the Command of CIS Support Unit (CSU) Brunssum as its Service Management Authority (SMA) the CIS Support Element (CSE) Ulm located in Ulm Germany is responsible to manage deliver and maintain assigned Communication and Information Systems (CIS) products and services for the Agencys customers during peacetime crisis and war throughout its assigned AoR and as otherwise directed.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Principal Technician (Cyber Security) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

Applies and maintains specific security controls as required by organisational policy and local risk assessments.
Communicates security risks and issues to business managers and others.
Follows standard approaches for the technical assessment of information systems against information assurance policies and business objectives.
Implements routine accreditation decisions.
Provides detailed and specific advice regarding the application of their specialism to the organisations planning and operations.
Actively maintains knowledge in one or more identifiable specialisms.
Directs internal communications on existing and potential information security issues.
Designs and develops information security awareness and training programs.
Performs information gathering and research on key elements of IT security policies.
Assists senior colleagues in identifying and analyzing critical issues in IT security policies.

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

At least 2 years experience with system security security architecture network security security governance and risk management;
Knowledge and working experience of security and networking technologies including IPv4 Firewalls Virtual Private Networks Proxy Servers Intrusion Detection and Forensic tools;
Experience with wireless LAN technologies and endpoint security of mobile devices including laptops tablets and smartphones;
Experience with security incident handling interpretation of Cyber Security audit results;
Experience conducting risk assessments.
Experience as Crypto Custodian or Alternate Crypto Custodian in a NATO body or National Military Command.
Fluency in English both written and spoken.
