Job Summary

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
The office of Partners In Allergy & Asthma Care a division of Florida Pediatric Associates is looking for an experience Licensed Practical Nurse to join their busy practice.

Education and Training
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current State of Florida unencumbered LPN Licensure
Experience
  • One or more years of LPN experience.
  • Pediatric or pediatric Allergy experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems data entry.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Specific
  1. Obtain vital signs pulse oximetry ECG and place cardiac monitors.
  2. Assist the physician with patient exams and/or treatment.
  3. Gather and organize accurate documentation and prior medical records for provider review.
  4. Chart and clerical work as necessary to oversee phone prescriptions and refills to pharmacies.
  5. Triage patient phone calls to identify emergent and non-emergent situations.
  6. Ensure patient flow is timely and accurate throughout the clinic.
  7. Assist with disinfecting exam rooms between patients using OSHA protocols.
  8. Provide educational tools to patients to help in treatment decision making.
  9. Document patient visits into EMR.
  10. Respond to medical emergencies and solicit immediately with assistance from Senior Clinical team (MD ARNP/PA RN)
  11. Exercise a high degree of initiative judgment discretion and decision-making to achieve objectives.
  12. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients vendors and families.
  13. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  14. Effectively time-manage job responsibilities.
  15. Organize workflow and documentation.
  16. Demonstrate detail-oriented work product.
  17. Utilize scanning devices and manage scanned documents.
  18. Be receptive to feedback and willingness to make necessary adjustments to enhance the clinic and patient experience.

Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in a medical office.
  • Work may expose the employee to blood borne pathogens and other exposures of patient care/medical practice. Masks and PPE provided as required.
Physical Demand Requirements
While performing the duties of this job the employee is or may be required to:
  • Frequently use hands fingers and arms to operate medical equipment to care for patients.
  • Frequently moves around the office to engage in clinical and administrative activities.
  • Frequently move about the office to access file cabinets office machinery etc.
  • Frequently must reach bend stoop and handle objects with hands and/or fingers.
  • Frequently must communicate by phone with healthcare providers patients families coworkers and others.
  • Frequently uses close and distance vision to care for patients.
  • Frequently uses EMR phone email and fax.
  • May lift items weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • May climb and descend one flight of stairs.
