An accountant prepares analyzes and reports financial information so that a company or client can stay compliant understand performance and make informed business decisions.
Core responsibilities
Record and reconcile financial transactions manage accounts payable/receivable and handle monthly quarterly and annual closings.
Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets income statements and cash flow reports ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Compute taxes prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards laws and regulations.
Analysis and advisory
Analyze financial data to identify trends variances and risks then provide recommendations to improve profitability and control costs.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes helping management plan for revenue expenses and cash flow.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors respond to audit queries and help strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
Qualifications :
Skills and requirements
Strong knowledge of accounting principles standards and relevant regulations along with proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets.
Attention to detail numerical accuracy and analytical skills to manage large volumes of financial data.
Typically requires a bachelors degree in accounting/finance; certifications such as CA CPA or CMA are often preferred or required for advanced roles.
