Job Summary

Westgold Resources is seeking an Underground Geology Superintendent to lead our geology team at our Southern Goldfields operations. This permanent position operating on an 8 days on 6 days off roster plays a pivotal role in driving the sites geological performance.
Theres plenty to be excited about at our Southern Goldfields Operations with infill drilling for Fletcher Stage 1 targeting a maiden Ore Reserve in FY26 recently commencing. Drilling for Fletcher Stage 2 covering the northern kilometre of the system is scheduled for the first half of FY26. These programs demonstrate the significant growth potential of Beta Hunt and mark the beginning of what is expected to be a multidecade journey for Fletcher within an expanded mine plan.
This is more than a technical role its an opportunity to lead people influence operational decisions and champion continuous improvement across all geological functions. Youll oversee grade control reconciliation resource development and compliance while fostering a strong safety and team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all underground geology functions ensuring highquality ore mining geological reconciliation and grade control.
- Deliver and maintain the underground diamond drilling schedule aligned with planning and modelling timelines.
- Provide geological input into Life of Mine planning in collaboration with Technical Services and Corporate teams.
- Drive improvements in dilution control and ore recovery to optimise commercial outcomes.
- Mentor and lead geologists and technicians promoting safety accountability and continuous improvement.
- Assist with geological budgeting cost tracking and contractor management.
- Support training pathways technical development and capability uplift across the geology team.
About You
- 8 years mining experience (including 5 years in gold) and at least 3 years in a senior geology leadership role.
- Strong technical capability in underground grade control modelling reconciliation and resource estimation.
- Proven leadership and team development skills with a track record of delivering business improvements.
- Excellent communication and decisionmaking abilities across operational and technical teams.
- Ability to forecast budgets and manage costs effectively.
- Experience using Leapfrog.
- Tertiary qualification in Geology.
- Current Manual Drivers Licence.
- National Police Clearance (issued within the last 12 months).
