Role Overview

M365Consult is seeking a highly proficient Microsoft Exchange On-Prem Administrator for a long-term full-time contract. You will operate in an MSP setting maintaining around 10 customer environments. About 50% of your time will focus on server hardening and upgrades while the other 50% will cover project work and troubleshooting/ticket handling in predominantly hybrid Exchange setups with a strong emphasis on the on-premises side.

An initial onboarding phase of approximately 2 weeks (3 hours per day) will be followed by a gradual ramp-up to 46 hours daily and eventually to a regular 8-hour day. Work will be done during US time zone hours while customers are in non-English environments so the ability to work effectively using translation tools is essential. This position targets true experts and includes deep technical interviews before the start and during onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure manage and maintain Microsoft Exchange servers () and related infrastructure including upgrades patching hardening and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to mail flow databases and client connectivity in complex on-prem and hybrid environments.
• Work with Edge Servers and email security gateways such as EOP Proofpoint OPEN Mission Control and similar solutions to secure and optimize mail traffic.
• Manage email encryption and decryption using tools/services like OME Proofpoint Totemo (kiteworks) SEPPMail and HIN.
• Use PowerShell scripting to automate administrative tasks in Exchange On-Prem and Exchange Online (O365).
• Create and maintain clear documentation and procedures for Exchange configurations operations and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• 5 years proven experience as a Microsoft Exchange Server (2013/2016/2019) On-Prem Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of SMTP POP3 and IMAP communication protocols.
• Hands-on experience with Exchange migrations upgrades patch management and server hardening.
• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
• Comfortable working long-term in US time zones and in a mainly non-English customer environment using translation tools where needed.
