Key Responsibilities
- Litigation Support: Support partners and senior attorneys in all phases of civil litigation including case assessment discovery motion practice mediation and trial preparation.
- Legal Research & Writing: Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare high-quality memoranda on substantive legal issues.
- Case Management: Manage case deadlines to ensure timely filings and strict compliance with procedural rules.
- Client & Witness Interaction: Actively participate in client interviews witness preparation depositions and mediations.
Requirements
- Experience: 38 years of litigation experience with a specific focus on Public Law (experience from a City Attorneys office or a law firm handling public law work is essential).
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Note: Minimum 3.0 GPA required for candidates with under 5 years of practice.
- Licensure: Active membership in the California State Bar.
- Skills: Exceptional writing research and analytical skills are non-negotiable.
- Attributes: A genuine interest in public law work and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced collegial environment.
