Position Overview
We are supporting a confidential healthcare organization in Southern California seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager NICU to support clinical operations and nursing leadership within a high-acuity neonatal intensive care environment.
This role partners closely with nursing leadership physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care staff development and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Support daily clinical and operational management of a NICU unit

Assist with implementation of patient care delivery models and best practices

Support staff supervision scheduling and appropriate resource allocation

Participate in quality improvement patient safety and compliance initiatives
-
Assist with investigations related to patient family or care concerns
-
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
-
Ensure adherence to clinical standards policies and regulatory requirements
-
Provide clinical oversight and support as needed
Required Qualifications
-
Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
-
BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of NICU RN experience in a Level III or higher NICU
-
Minimum 1 year of formal nursing leadership experience
(Charge Nurse Clinical Coordinator Supervisor Assistant Nurse Manager etc.)
-
Associates degree or higher in Nursing Healthcare or related field
-
Strong leadership communication and people management skills
-
Authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN)
-
NICU specialty certifications (NRP RNC-NIC)
-
Experience in acute care hospital environments

Experience supporting teams in unionized healthcare settings
