FinTrust Connect has partnered with a leading specialty insurance provider that is seeking a senior-level Inland Marine Underwriter with deep expertise in Builders Risk and associated inland marine coverages. This is an exciting opportunity to support a high-growth commercial lines portfolio within a dynamic underwriting environment.

Function: Lead underwriting efforts for Builders Risk and inland marine accounts while mentoring peers and supporting agency relationships

Requirements:

7 years of commercial underwriting experience including Builders Risk and Inland Marine
Bachelors degree in Risk Management Business Administration or related field preferred
Professional designations (AMIM CPCU CIC or ARM) strongly valued
Familiarity with ISO forms contractors equipment installation floaters and transportation risks
Experience with underwriting platforms like Salesforce Perceptive Concept or AS400

Description:

Underwrite and evaluate new and renewal accounts across inland marine lines including Builders Risk property in transit and warehousing
Apply appropriate pricing and coverage terms based on risk characteristics guidelines and market conditions
Collaborate with Product Loss Control and Underwriting Assistants to ensure underwriting accuracy
Maintain strong agency relationships and lead regular meetings (virtual and in-person) to promote growth and submission quality
Contribute to the development of underwriting training materials and best practices
Support internal teams through mentorship and knowledge sharing
Monitor market trends and regulatory changes affecting inland marine insurance
