Job Summary
The Therapy Center Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the therapy center while managing a full patient caseload. This role ensures compliance with all operational clinical and regulatory policies; oversees financial performance; and leads local sales and marketing efforts to strengthen referral relationships. The position combines hands-on clinical practice with leadership and operational management responsibilities.
Essential Functions Management & Operations
Leadership & Culture
Center Management

Oversee daily operations of one or more therapy centers including caseload management and patient scheduling.

Ensure efficient workflow and optimal staffing levels to maintain high-quality patient care.

Recruit hire and onboard clinical staff in collaboration with regional leadership.
-
Conduct staff orientation and training to support clinical programs and operational goals.
-
Lead monthly staff meetings to resolve operational issues and provide clinical in-services.
Strategic & Financial Oversight
-
Assist in developing center budgets and participate in local and regional strategic planning.
-
Monitor profitability and interpret financial statements to identify underperforming areas.
-
Develop and implement corrective action plans to improve financial and operational performance.
-
Approve purchase orders and manage cost controls.
-
Prepare and submit capital equipment requests as needed.
Marketing & Referral Development
-
Develop and execute center-specific marketing and sales plans aimed at traditional referral sources.
-
Strengthen and maintain strong relationships with physicians payors and community partners.
-
Support the implementation of clinical specialty programs based on customer needs.
Quality Compliance & Staff Development
-
Ensure compliance with all regulatory federal state and local requirements as well as internal clinical and operational policies.

Conduct routine quality assurance and compliance audits; develop corrective action plans as needed.
-
Review outcome measures at least quarterly and implement improvement strategies.
-
Serve as a clinical resource and provide professional development opportunities for staff.
-
Complete timely and accurate performance reviews for center personnel with emphasis on growth and development.
-
Manage employee relations issues fairly and consistently consulting with Human Resources when appropriate.
-
Promote positive morale teamwork and recognition of staff success.
Essential Functions Clinical Treatment

Adhere to the state Physical Therapy Practice Act and all supervision requirements for support personnel.
-
Complete all required Medicare OSHA and regulatory training.
-
Evaluate treat and direct skilled interventions for patients requiring physical therapy clearly documenting medical necessity.
-
Maintain thorough timely and accurate documentation of treatment goals progress and outcomes.
-
Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients families physicians colleagues and payors.
-
Participate in facility meetings such as utilization review safety and clinical discussions.
-
Maintain state licensure continuing education credits and current CPR certification.
Additional Responsibilities

Serve as a role model and resource for clinical peers.
-
Seek opportunities for continuous learning including researching unfamiliar diagnoses and procedures.
-
Assist with general center maintenance to ensure a professional and orderly environment.
-
Support customer service functions including phone coverage patient registration and scheduling as needed.
-
Utilize time efficiently to meet productivity expectations.
-
Participate in and deliver clinical in-services.
-
Stay informed on developments in physical therapy and overall healthcare trends.
-
Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.

Ability to push wheeled equipment within the facility or community.

Ability to sustain physical activity for extended periods in compliance with labor guidelines.
Required Credentials

Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist program (or equivalent education for internationally trained therapists).

Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
-
Active CPR certification throughout employment.
-
Current tuberculosis (TB) test in accordance with state requirements.
