Power Platform Developer

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid 2 days a week on site)
Salary: 45k - 54k
About the role
This role sits within a growing agile development team and is responsible for designing developing and maintaining internal and external-facing web solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies. The primary focus is on building and supporting multiple Power Pages websites that integrate with Microsoft Dataverse and Dynamics 365 including a secure portal used by external users.
The successful candidate will be hands-on technically strong in core Power Platform and web fundamentals and comfortable working within structured Agile and DevOps-based delivery practices.
Team & Environment
- Part of a development team of 6 and growing
- Agile delivery environment using DevOps and modern SDLC practices
- Close collaboration with Solution Architects Lead Developers Business Analysts and other technical stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain secure scalable Power Pages websites using Power Pages Design Studio and Power Platform tools
- Contribute to and support multiple Power Pages websites (currently several live sites)
- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
- Integrate Power Pages solutions with Microsoft Dataverse Dynamics 365 and external systems using APIs and Power Platform connectors
- Build and customise front-end functionality using HTML CSS JavaScript and Liquid templates
- Develop custom controls using the Power Apps Component Framework (PCF) where required
- Create automated workflows using Power Automate triggered by portal and system events
- Apply security best practices including authentication role-based access and data protection
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation for solutions integrations and enhancements
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement of development standards release management and quality assurance processes
Essential Experience & Skills
- 35 years hands-on experience in a Power Platform or similar web development role
- Proven experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Pages
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Dataverse security models and integrations
- Solid front-end development skills:
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- Liquid templating language
- Experience with PCF controls
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps Git or similar CI/CD tools
- Clear understanding of Agile methodologies and the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Ability to clearly explain technical decisions and approaches to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with C# for advanced integrations or custom APIs
- Exposure to Azure services such as Logic Apps or API Management
- Microsoft Power Platform certification (e.g. PL-400)
Working Pattern
- Hybrid working:
- 2 days per week in the office Main day Tuesday
- Second day is flexible
- A third on-site day may be required occasionally based on business needs
- Relocation is not supported
