Job Summary and Responsibilities

Licensed Counselors at the St. Josephs Sobriety Program provide individual and group counseling services to adults participating in alcohol and/or drug addiction. This role includes responsibility for conducting intake assessments developing treatment plans and facilitating trauma-informed evidence-based care. Counselors also support family engagement parenting education and coordination of wraparound services within a collaborative team environment.

Job Requirements

  • Conduct initial intake assessments to determine the appropriate level of care using the ASAM criteria.
  • Develop individualized strengths-based treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Provide weekly individual and group counseling services utilizing evidence-based approaches including CRA CBT and MI.
  • Facilitate parenting relapse prevention and recovery-focused group sessions.
  • Support 12-Step recovery participation and facilitate or refer to Al-Anon-informed groups.
  • Complete clinical documentation progress notes treatment plans and discharge summaries in accordance with NMAC and Medicaid standards.
  • Collaborate with case managers peer support staff and community partners to coordinate holistic care.
  • Provide crisis intervention safety planning and referrals to higher levels of care as needed.
  • Participate in weekly case reviews staff meetings and clinical supervision.
  • Ensure culturally competent family-centered service delivery aligned with trauma-informed principles.

Qualifications:

  • Credential: LADAC required. LPCC LISW LMHC or LMSW preferred.
  • BILINGUAL - Spanish/English
  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Counseling Social Work Psychology or a related behavioral health field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of clinical experience in substance and/or alcohol addiction.
