Assist Manager and Education & Promotions Coordinator with elements of the County emergency management program including but not limited to:
Assist with annual update of the municipal Emergency Response Plan
Review operational requirements of primary and alternate Emergency Operations Centres and recommend enhancements as appropriate
Provide planning support for County annual emergency exercise
Development of public education materials to support National Emergency Preparedness Week and participate in EP Week activities
Assist with annual update of the corporate Business Continuity Plan
Comply with provincial and County occupational health and safety legislation regulations policies and procedures
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
In the event of a community emergency provide support to the Emergency Operations Centre as required
Perform other duties as assigned
Must be a registered full-time post-secondary student during the preceding academic year and be returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
Awareness of municipal government emergency planning issues
Students studying at the graduate level in programs such as Master of Emergency Management or Master of Municipal Planning an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Word processing spreadsheet and database application skills preferred
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Varied office experience an asset
Must have a valid drivers license

Criminal Records Check with that is less than six (6) months old at time of hire required
