Job Description:
As the founding Internal Security Engineer you will architect the security foundation for a well-funded startup at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. You will take full ownership of infrastructure hardening compliance readiness and security tooling establishing the scalable processes necessary to protect the platform during a period of hypergrowth.

Location: Remote UK/Europe

What you will do:

• Design and implement comprehensive security monitoring and logging systems using AWS-native tools and Terraform.

• Lead compliance readiness for SOC2 and ISO27001 by building documentation and automated evidence collection systems.

• Partner with engineering to embed security into development workflows ensuring secure-by-default paths for the entire team.

The ideal candidate:

• 5 years of security engineering experience with a track record of building programs at fast-growing companies.

• Deep technical expertise in AWS security IAM policies and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.

• Pragmatic mindset with the ability to balance rigorous security standards with the high velocity of an early-stage startup.
