The Division of Solid Tumor Oncology in the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) invites applications for Chief of the Clinical Genetics Service (CGS). MSK seeks a visionary leader to advance CGS as a national and international model for hereditary cancer risk assessment precision prevention and the integration of cutting-edge science into clinical care.
The Clinical Genetics Service (CGS) is a multidisciplinary team of physicians genetic counselors and genetic counselor assistants providing comprehensive hereditary cancer risk assessment and management across MSKs Manhattan and regional locations. With more than 6000 outpatient visits annually CGS is foundational to MSKs precision prevention and early detection platforms.
The next Chief will serve as a catalyst for innovation setting a bold agenda at the vanguard of cancer genetics and genomic medicine. The selected leader will be expected to:
Reporting to the Division Head Solid Tumor Oncology (Luis Diaz MD) the Chief will have strategic research clinical and operational oversight for all aspects of CGS. This includes defining priorities for clinical excellence rapid integration of breakthroughs research portfolio development talent acquisition and faculty mentorship. The Chief will lead close collaborations across MSKs basic translational and population science programs ensuring CGS faculty remain global leaders in advancing precision oncology.
CGS faculty are at the forefront of clinical cancer genetics using next-generation sequencing advanced risk modeling and state-of-the-art prevention science to benefit patients and their families. The Service delivers personalized recommendations for surveillance risk reduction and family assessment supported by a robust research program spanning cancer genetics genomic discovery implementation science and population health.
