The Company offers a complete range of products and services including high speed machining (3 4 & 5 axis medium/complex aluminum and hard metal machining) kitting assembly and integration decorative coatings airfoil/propulsion structures specialist and global supply chain management.
The Quality Manager is responsible for the design and implementation of the policies and procedures that ensure quality standards are met during production. Oversees testing of processes and products. Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts practices and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Primary Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Implement Work Center goals and objectives in partnership with Department Managers
- Coordinate implement monitor and update plans programs targets and initiatives within established schedule quality and cost parameters
- Direct coordinate and supervise the activities of employees
- Work with appropriate IT/Production personnel to implement and maintain necessary resources (tools PCs floor space etc.)
- Work with Supervisors to coordinate interdependent operations and activities
- Plan and establish work schedules assignments and resources to meet production requirements
- Maintains employee work and performance records
- First in management line to resolve worker problems complaints or grievances
- Works with reporting Manager and HR on personnel issues
- Partner with Quality to align Directorate goals with Business Quality Management System (BQMS)
- Champion Six Sigma and facilitate lean initiatives
- Develop and deploy management metrics
- Support IT and Production with long-range resource plans
- May occasionally perform special projects; Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of raw materials production processes quality controls and costs
- Understand/use techniques for effective control of delivered quality cost and schedule in the manufacture of Primus products
- Blueprint reading basic shop math General Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of people material and equipment resource allocation teaming production methods and understanding and use of ERP/MRP and related systems
- Well versed in ISO/AS9100 Quality requirements
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word Excel)
- Thorough understanding of Syteline/ESI systems broad knowledge of Quality-specific software
- Motivates develops and directs people as they work identifying the best people for the job
- Consider costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
Minimum Requirements:
- 10 years experience in the aerospace industry
- 5 years experience in the Quality leadership field
- Bachelors Degree or an additional 5 years experience in the field
- Excellent communication skills
- Technical writing proficiency
- Basic computer proficiency and understanding of industry related software
- Must meet all minimum requirements of: Quality Engineer and Planner
Work Conditions:
- Mixed office and shop/industrial
- VDTs computers; Moving parts machine noise
- Sedentary to low activity including intra-building walking
- Lift/Move/Position: None to occasional 35#
Travel:
May require work/travel at another division facility or office location and supplier travel
