COGAR specializes in providing facilities management armed and unarmed physical security personnel security escort services access control and consulting services to the Federal Government and large corporations nationwide. COGAR is equipped to resolve complex problems in a variety of program management areas including; risk assessment physical security facilities management and personnel management ().

Job Skills / Requirements

$18.75 Hourly $4.93 H&W

Ensure all security guards are in uniform and present a neat appearance.

Maintain continued liaison with the COR or designated alternate.

Conduct site inspections of all posts to ensure compliance of rules and regulations.

Provide post breaks during their scheduled tour.

Shall make sure all VA policies and regulations are being followed by his/her subordinates.

Conduct on-spot corrective action for subordinates.

Complete monthly duty schedule and ensure daily shifts are filled appropriately.

Identify report delay or detain persons who violate rules and regulations as appropriate and in accordance with local state federal laws and Post Orders.

Process visitors by verifying identification contacting agency sponsors escorts fabricating and issuing visitor passes entering and maintaining data on visitor logs or in an automated visitor database program and ensuring visitors are subject to screening.

Report incidents in accordance with established procedures.

Maintain logs reports and files of incidents and occurrences during tour of duty.

Observe surrounding environment both in person and remotely using monitoring equipment and when necessary question those persons whose activities arouse suspicion.

Be familiar with VAMC and Capital Region Readiness Center (CRRC) regulations guidelines/memorandums and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and specifically with emergency and evacuation plans and the locations of emergency gathering/rally points restrooms elevators stairwells entrances and exits retail spaces and parking areas and provide that information upon inquiry.

Verify identification (if required) of persons attempting to gain access to the facility.

Control vehicular access as required.

Conduct patrols in accordance with routes and schedules established in Post Orders.

Monitor observe detect respond to and report on potential or actual security violations and environmental conditions.

Direct traffic (vehicular and pedestrian) control parking examine surroundings for suspicious vehicles or persons when required by Post Orders issue traffic courtesy violation notices or report to same to base law enforcement personnel.

Receive utilize and safeguard keys and access control devices.

Monitor and operate facility fire alarms environmental and intrusion detection Systems closed circuit television systems automated access control systems communications systems and other protection devices or facility equipment located on or near post in accordance with Post Orders.

Report potentially hazardous conditions and items in need of repair and perform other functions as directed at government facilities or grounds which may be necessary during situations such as civil disturbances or other criminal acts which could adversely affect security and/or safety of government employees property and the general public.
