Software Dev Manager III, Leo Data Science Platform

As a Software Dev Manager youll be leading us in making critical and time sensitive decisions that impact customers. Youll use your expertise to build solutions that can scale and solve the business problem and your engineering experience to build systems that take those solutions to production; its an exciting opportunity to apply data science to help improve fraud detection accuracy inference and customer experience monitoring activity. Its fast paced data driven and impactful.

Key job responsibilities
Build and lead engineering teams developing cloud-native applications for Leos Data Streaming Bus
Own the technical vision and continuous improvement of the service
Ensure high availability and reliability of mission-critical systems supporting real time data processing monitoring and streaming needs
Drive innovation in customer experience while maintaining enterprise-grade security and compliance
Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business requirements into technical solutions

A day in the life
You will work with Product Management Business and other Engineering Stakeholders on defining the roadmap for Leos data platform. You will own solving customer problems and building software that is flexible for many different customer use cases and countries to support Leos global footprint.

About the team
Leo Data Science Platform team build services to ingest transform and aggregate data from various devices in Leo Network and auto detect diagnose and resolve issues. We use ML technology to monitor customer experience and prevent fraud and abuse.

- 3 years of engineering team management experience
- 7 years of engineering experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
- 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

- Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
