This Registered Nurse Regional Manager Region 1 role offers a dynamic opportunity to lead and shape public health nursing across an entire region. Serving as the regional nursing leader this position provides clinical and programmatic guidance to public private and contract partners while overseeing a wide range of essential health programsincluding immunizations reproductive health tuberculosis and disease prevention. The role blends hands-on clinical expertise with strategic leadership allowing you to mentor nursing staff influence community health outcomes and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to protect and improve the health of Louisianas communities.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:
Five years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A bachelors degree in nursing plus four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A masters degree in nursing or public health plus four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A doctorate in nursing or public health plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Provide Regional Nursing Leadership and Quality Oversight
Direct and evaluate public health nursing services across OPH facilities by conducting on-site monitoring reviewing electronic health records quality improvement plans clinic activity reports and performance data to ensure effective efficient and compliant nursing care. - Supervise and Manage Regional Nursing Personnel
Oversee all regional professional nursing staff including performance evaluations recruitment and hiring recommendations staff assignments leave and travel approvals training disciplinary actions and investigation of complaints to ensure workforce readiness and competency. - Ensure Staff Competency Training and Program Readiness
Plan and implement orientation continuing education in-service training and competency assessments to support new programs clinical updates emergency preparedness and regulatory compliance. - Collaborate on Program Planning Policy Implementation and Budget Development
Work closely with the Regional Administrator/Medical Director and program leadership to establish goals implement program protocols develop workload and staffing standards assist with regional and parish budget preparation and serve as a liaison between local health units and state offices. - Lead Emergency Preparedness and Public Health Response Activities
Participate in and provide on-call coverage for public health emergencies; support Medical Special Needs Shelters bioterrorism preparedness and statewide response efforts; and collaborate with medical environmental health and epidemiology partners to protect community health. - Deliver Direct Clinical Nursing Services as Needed
Provide hands-on nursing care across parish programs including immunizations reproductive health WIC STDs tuberculosis and emergency shelters; administer medications; conduct nursing assessments; maintain CPR certification; and ensure adherence to CLIA and OSHA standards. - Manage Specialized Clinical Operations and Statewide Responsibilities
Oversee clinical operations of the Wetmore Tuberculosis Clinic supervising staff improving workflows ensuring CDC and OSHA compliance and serving as a TB clinician when needed; perform statewide fieldwork inspections and travel as required to support OPH operations.
