The Opportunity:

As the Principal Treasury (Structured Finance & Capital Markets) you will lead the design negotiation and execution of financing solutions for Hamilton Lanes private market products including NAV (Net Asset Value) facilities asset-backed structures and other strategic credit arrangements. You will also drive capital markets strategy focusing on liquidity optimization leverage solutions and foreign exchange (FX) risk management to support global investment and financing activities. You will collaborate closely with Portfolio Management Treasury Investment Teams Legal and external counterparties to deliver innovative financing strategies aligned with Hamilton Lanes growth objectives.

Your responsibilities will be to:

Capital Markets Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute capital markets strategies to optimize liquidity leverage and financing across private market products.

  • Monitor credit market conditions interest rate trends and lender appetite to inform financing decisions and product structuring.

  • Partner with fundraising and investor relations teams to assess how financing solutions impact investor returns and product competitiveness.

  • Evaluate and recommend alternative financing structures (e.g. securitizations private credit solutions hybrid facilities) to enhance flexibility and cost efficiency.

Structured Finance Leadership

  • Lead negotiations for NAV loans subscription lines and asset-backed facilities across multiple strategies and jurisdictions.

  • Draft and refine term sheets ensuring alignment with Hamilton Lanes risk and operational standards.

  • Manage execution timelines and coordinate with internal and external legal teams to finalize documentation.

FX & Liquidity Management

  • Develop and implement FX risk management strategies to support multi-currency portfolios and financing facilities.

  • Execute and monitor FX hedging programs including forwards swaps and other derivatives in coordination with Treasury and investment teams.

  • Analyze currency exposure across products and recommend optimal hedging ratios and instruments.

  • Maintain relationships with banks and counterparties for FX execution and pricing.

  • Monitor global currency markets and provide insights on trends impacting Hamilton Lanes financing and investment activities.

Market Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks institutional lenders and capital markets participants to secure competitive financing terms.

  • Represent Hamilton Lane in capital markets discussions syndication processes and lender presentations.

  • Stay informed on regulatory developments and market innovations impacting private market financing.

Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Oversee ongoing compliance borrowing base calculations and covenant monitoring for all facilities.

  • Develop strategies for refinancing restructuring or unwinding facilities based on market conditions and portfolio needs.

  • Implement robust risk management practices to mitigate exposure to interest rate liquidity and counterparty risks.

Your background will include:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Business Administration or related field.

  • 10 years of experience in capital markets structured finance or private markets.

  • Proven track record in negotiating and structuring NAV loans asset-backed facilities or similar financing solutions.

  • Experience with FX risk management and derivative instruments (forwards swaps options).

  • Strong understanding of private market strategies fund structures and asset valuation methodologies.

  • Excellent analytical negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage complex transactions and multiple stakeholders under tight timelines.

  • Advanced degree (MBA CFA) or relevant certifications preferred.

  • Experience with Hamilton Lane products or similar private market strategies.

  • Familiarity with capital markets instruments syndication processes and regulatory frameworks.
