The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration Health Services Rehabilitation & Reentry Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!
Description of Work
Salary Range: $53164.00 - $93.038.00Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

The Assistant Superintendent for Custody and Operations III assist the Assistant Superintendent of Custody and Operations V or the Correctional Administrator in the total operations of the facility.
This position reports directly to the Warden.

Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of supervisory administrative or consultative experience in corrections or related work;
-OR-
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience at or above the Correctional Lieutenant level.
-OR-
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications:
Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
