Role Overview
The Financial Services Lead is responsible for overseeing the Groups revenue recording and accounting and other transactional finance activities. This includes the accurate and efficient delivery of accounts payable accounts receivable and cash processes.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller this role provides leadership to the processing team drives system and process improvements and ensures strong governance and internal controls are maintained.
This is a 12 month parental leave cover and will play an important part of the Flinders Port Holdings transformation this role will pay a key part in the improvement of Group revenue processing through transition to a new revenue system and process improvement across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the Groups Revenue invoicing accounting and controls ensuring completeness accuracy and compliance with contracts and regulatory frameworks;
Assist in the transition to a new invoicing system for the Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal business unit;
Lead and develop the financial services team (AP AR invoicing and bank reconciliations) fostering a high-performance and improvement culture and customer-focused services;
Ensure Accounts Payable is conducted in a controlled and efficient manner and prepare regular reporting on performance and risk areas;and
Manage the Groups Accounts Receivable function to ensure that monies owed by customers are received in a timely manner by initiating recovery actions ensuring effective escalation of issues where appropriate and preparing regular reporting.
About you
Your skills and experience will include;
Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC);
Current Drivers Licence;
Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent (Accounting/Finance focus);
Membership of CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants ANZ is highly desirable though not essential; and
Leadership and communication skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
