Your role as Legal Operations & Litigation Manager:

You will lead the operational backbone of our Legal Department while managing our litigation portfolio. This role combines strategic leadership in legal operations with hands-on litigation management ensuring efficiency compliance and predictable outcomes.

All the responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • Litigation Management: Manage end-to-end litigation processes including intake insurance management scoping law firm selection case strategy discovery settlement planning and implement playbooks for litigation matters
  • Legal Operations Leadership: Oversee filing and management systems billing and implement standard operating procedures and playbooks
  • Financial & Vendor Oversight: Build budgets negotiate rates track spend vs. plan and maintain law firm scorecards
  • Technology & Data: Drive adoption of technology and tools including AI
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support such as scheduling meetings preparing agendas managing correspondence organizing files and assisting the General Counsel with document review research and other tasks
  • Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate cross-department communication with all departments of the organization

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:

  • Proficient to advanced computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word Excel Outlook etc. and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier laser printer telephone and computer
  • Possess strong communication skills both written and verbal and effectively work well with others in a collaborative respectful manner
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
  • Maintain strict confidence and professionalism in all aspects of the role
  • Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion integrity and accountability
  • Maintain consistent punctual and reliable attendance

You will be required to meet the following:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
  • Minimum 4-year Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in legal operations litigation management legal assistant insurance or closely related roles
  • Proven executive-level communication and project leadership skills including the ability to prioritize large volumes of projects and meet strict deadlines
  • Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings weekends holidays and extended hours as needed
  • Able to travel as needed
  • Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
  • As a condition of employment you must successfully complete all post-offer pre-employment requirements including but not limited to a background check

Pay and additional compensation:

Per the California pay transparency law the base pay range for this full-time position is $36.06 to $40.87. As a candidate for this position your pay and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience education job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
