MW Components in Merrill WI is looking for a Set-Up Operator in our Secondary Operations.
Summary
Set-up adjust and operate a variety of machines to place threads in nuts or on bolts (tapping) and create the locking mechanism (deflection) for various products.
Job Duties
- Set-up adjust and operate a variety of machines per production specification blueprints work instructions and customer
- requirements.
- May operate several machines performing several processes
- Make minor adjustments and perform minor maintenance on equipment. Report other maintenance needs to the
Maintenance department:
- Lubricates machine(s) when necessary
- Maintain a clean machine(s) and organized work area.
- Assures that all safety guards and safety settings are in good condition and in place as required.
- Inspects work in progress using equipment measuring devices and tools necessary and outlined in Quality Standard
Operating Procedures and/or work instructions:
- Checks visually for poor product.
- Responsible for the quality of own work
- All other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Demonstrated math skills and computer literacy.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machine operation
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Certification in the metal trades industry
- Blueprint reading capabilities desired or ability to learn

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and seldom lifting to 50lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching pushing pulling gripping and grasping. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses hearing protection and steel toed work boots or shoes.
