IMC is currently hiringanER Tech whoisresponsibleforapplying the nursing process (assessment planningintervention and evaluation) in caring for patients. Effectively interacting with patientsignificant others and other heath team members. Demonstrating knowledge and skills necessaryto provide care based on physical psycho/social education safety and relatedcriteria for the newborn pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric population.The ER Tech also assists the ER staff with enteringpatient charges in the computer and maintaining clean ER rooms.

WORK HOURS:

• 12 Hour Shifts (alternating weekends)

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience preferred but not required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

• CPR
• Basic knowledge of nursing process/principals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identifies patient and family educationneeds and in collaboration with other disciplines initiates education needsaccording to the age of the patient.
• Participates in departmental andhospital improvement plan.
• Functions as a positive role model forpeers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical Center.
• Maintains confidentiality security andintegrity of patient and organizational data.
• Consistently lives by Iberia Medical Centers Standards ofPerformance.
• Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals.
• Safely transports and notifies staff ofinpatient admits brought to assigned rooms.
• Correctly enters all patients in the ERlogbook.
• Collects urine stool sputum specimensand transports to lab.
• Restocks/cleans ER rooms.
• Assists staff with computer order entry.
• Assists patients with eating mobilitydressing and toileting.
• Assists staff with obtaining andrecording vital signs.
• Computer entry of patient charges
• Demonstrates respect for patients andfamilies.
• Maintains and protects confidentialityregarding all aspects of patient care.
