• Full time NP or PA opportunity as the Thoracic Oncology Service Line Coordinator. Day shift/ clinic hours with some remote opportunities.

  Job duties include:

  • Point of contact for the oncology program patients and providers
  • Receive and review internal and external referrals.
  • Perform initial consult visit on all cancer patients.
  • Order and schedule appropriate testing for ongoing cancer follow-up or staging.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure appropriate and efficient treatment plans are in place.
  • Presents and coordinates tumor board patient presentations.
  • Provide education and support through the cancer journey including but not limited to assistance in understanding diagnosis treatment options and medication regimens.
  • Facilitates and streamlines communication across the care continuum
  • Work across healthcare disciplines to ensure timely appointments results reporting and communication.
  • Identify potential barriers to care.
  • Development of patient education materials clinical pathways and quality studies.
  • Participate in diagnosis related clinical trials.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Knowledgeable of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Work with cancer registry staff and others to collect data track outcomes and support strategic planning processes.
  • Consistently deliver the best in customer service and patient care. As a team member demonstrate respect dignity kindness and empathy in each encounter with patients families visitors and other employees.

What We Require:

Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

Experience: 0

Licensure/Certification: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (LNP) DEA license and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred. Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.

Other: Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems including electronic medical records.
