Safety Specialist
Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Specialist to join a team. This role involves traveling to client locations to conduct safety inspections identify workplace hazards and provide recommendations for compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of OSHA regulations experience in safety training and the ability to develop and implement safety programs. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure workplace safety and compliance.

Responsibilities
- Conduct safety inspections of worksites and facilities ensuring compliance with OSHA 1926 and 1910 regulations.
- Identify workplace hazards and provide detailed recommendations for compliance and mitigation.
- Develop and implement safety programs and site-specific safety manuals.
- Conduct safety training sessions for client employees including topics such as forklift safety aerial lift safety and hazard communication.
- Interact with general contractors and governmental agencies to discuss and address safety protocols.
- Provide support in creating and maintaining safety documentation and manuals.
- Travel within New York State (50-75%) to client locations including Long Island the Five Boroughs and Westchester areas.
Qualifications/Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 regulations (all subparts).
- Certification in forklift safety training aerial lift safety training and boom safety training is highly desirable.
- OSHA-certified trainer and NYS CR-59 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain certification during employment).
- Self-motivated and proactive in identifying problems and developing effective solutions.
- Strong business acumen with excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within New York State.
