Location:This is a full-time position located in Augusta. This position allows for partial telework with manager approval.
Job Description:
You will serve as the Radioactive materials licensing and inspection person. This is a highly responsible and technical position requiring involved licensing and inspection this position you will be responsible for maintaining complex database programs rules and regulations updates internal administration procedures in this area and conducting emergency response activities. This position additionally conducts indoor tanning licensing and inspection.
You will also:
Facilitate and review license applications for radioactive materials use.
Review and draft regulations to maintain Federal agreements.
Solve and direct the resolution of regulatory violations.
Conduct monitoring and sampling activities.
Conduct inspections of radioactive materials use.
Conduct investigations of allegations regarding radioactive materials use.
Design and manage investigations and inspection programs.
Write and present reports policy statements and position papers.
Review and conduct training programs.
Conduct emergency response field sampling.
Create safety recommendations pertaining to radiation exposure.
Conduct tanning licensing and regulatory oversight
Perform tanning inspections in response to allegations
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree in Environmental Civil Sanitary Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related Engineering field. Related experience may be substituted for education.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class). For non-engineering college graduates and non-degreed candidates: Certification of Engineer-in-Training as issued by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
Preferred Candidates will also have:
Knowledge of radiation measurement devices and mathematics related to health physics
Knowledge of research methods and ability to analyze and interpret data
Outstanding oral/written communication skills and ability to establish effective working relationships
