Job Summary

We have an immediate opening for aBuyer/Planner - Machiningto work in our Procurement department based in our Shrewsbury MA office. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. This position will be responsible for the procurement of materials and equipment to support the machining operation.

Responsibilities

Work with machining and manufacturing personnel to define procurement requirements for materials and equipment.
Prepare verify and forward purchase orders to vendors.
Verify receipt of materials and authorize payment to vendors.
Administer and reconcile the company credit card purchasing program.
Negotiate best vendor terms pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.
Develop new supply sources as needed including establishing new vendor accounts and credit terms.
Qualify and manage suppliers in accordance with ISO-9001 quality program.
Monitor cost-accounting activities covering material and production costs.
Monitor inventory levels on an ongoing basis and coordinate annual physical inventory count.
Manage Kanban inventory systems.
Assist Cost Accounting Manager in preparing monthly journal entries for cost of sales and scrap.
Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing budget costs to actual production costs.
Promote the use of the departments best practices.

Skills and Requirements

A Bachelors Degree is required. Industry experience may be considered in lieu of bachelors degree
Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing for a machining environment
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work activities
Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills

The pay range for this role is $70000 - $90000 per year. Compensation is determined by factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education and training.
