It is responsible for ensuring the health safety and well-being of all North Carolinians providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf blind developmentally disabled and mentally ill and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.
Description of Work
The Human Services Planner/Evaluator will work with the North Carolina State Health Coordinating Council (SHCC) to prepare maintain and update selected chapters in the State Medical Facilities Plan (SMFP) for determination of the need for medical facilities services and equipment. This involves developing inventories developing and applying methodologies and preparing policies and narrative explanations.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $61545 - $107703
Recruitment Range: $61545 - $76600

The Division of Health Service Regulationoversees medical mental health and adult care facilities emergency medical services and local jails. We check to see that people receiving care in these facilities are safe and receive appropriate care. We make certain that medical buildings are built only when there is a need for them.

Minimum Education and Experience

Planner Masters degree in public or human service administration or human services programmatic field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of human service experience two of which must have been in human services program planning; or Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years progressive administrative or consultative experience in a human service program two of which must have been in human service program planning; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Evaluator Masters degree in the field of psychology sociology or social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in research and evaluation using statistical methodologies in human service programs; or Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in research evaluation and statistical application in the human service field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.EEO Statement
