The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. The department oversees Government Operations such as building construction purchasing and contracting for goods and services maintaining facilities managing state vehicles acquiring and disposing of real property and operating auxiliary services such as courier mail delivery and the sale of state and federal surplus property. Additionally the department manages many of the states advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the states population that have been traditionally underserved.
Description of Work
This position performs preventive maintenance diagnosis and repair of small engines powered tools and equipment used in the Landscaping Services section and vehicles used in the Facilities Maintenance Division.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
40% Performs preventive maintenance on powered equipment and vehicles according to prescribed maintenance schedules.35% Diagnosis malfunctions obtains from internal stock or purchases the necessary repair supplies and parts and makes repairs which range from minor repairs to engine adjustment and overhaul.5% Recommends disposal of equipment and vehicles when repair costs are excessive.10% Maintains tools equipment and supplies required in equipment diagnosis and repair. 10% Maintains records of preventive maintenance and repairs conducted.Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma or a sufficient year-for-year combination of education and experience in the repair work to which assigned; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I II III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82 subpart F.EEO Statement
