We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Hardware Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers an exciting chance to contribute to the design development and testing of products while also expanding your skill set and knowledge in the hardware engineering field.

What Youll Do

Collaborate with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to design prototype and test hardware solutions for MFT
Assist in the design and layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs) using industry-standard software.
Participate in hardware debugging troubleshooting and problem-solving to identify and resolve issues during the development process.
Contribute to the testing and validation of hardware components and systems ensuring they meet performance and quality standards.
Support the documentation process by creating and updating hardware specifications schematics and design documents.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies trends and advancements in the hardware engineering field.

Required Qualifications

Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters degree program in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or a related field.
Basic understanding of electronics digital logic analog circuits and PCB design principles.
Familiarity with hardware design tools such as schematic capture software (e.g. Altium OrCAD Eagle) and PCB layout software (e.g. Altium Allegro).
Hands-on experience with soldering prototyping and hardware testing is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and debug hardware issues.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Eagerness to learn and a genuine interest in hardware engineering and technology.
Previous internship personal projects or coursework related to hardware design is advantageous.

Duration

This internship position is a 10-week program starting May 2026. The exact duration can be discussed during the interview process.

Location

The internship will be based at our Carol Stream office.

Hourly Pay Range: $22.00 - $27.00

17.60 - 26.40
