Job Summary

TYLin is seeking a Senior Engineer/Project Manager to join the New York Water team. The Senior Engineer will support the design and implementation of innovative water wastewater and climate resiliency infrastructure projects in the New York region. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Program Director to manage the planning design and construction of these projects. Projects may include combined sewer conveyance/storage real-time control smart sewers and wastewater treatment.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Planning and Engineering design and consulting oversight for complex assignments including conditions assessments project site visits report preparation process mechanical and hydraulic calculations utility plans technical specifications cost estimating and understanding community impacts.
  • Preparation of design and construction documents for wastewater and water facilities climate resiliency projects and conveyance/treatment projects.
  • Review of engineering designs bid packages RFPs and Statements of Work prepared by others as part of a program management role.
  • Active leadership in assignments as a member of a team including peer mentorship of design and consulting staff.
  • Periodically working onsite at client (Utility) water/wastewater facilities to collaborate alongside the facility operations and maintenance staff.
  • Support management of grant writing and funding procurement for infrastructure and community projects.
  • Actively engage in business development and growth opportunities for new clients and projects/programs under the Water Sector Infrastructure Equity Practice and Water Advisory Practice.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

  • Education: minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience: minimum 10 years experience in water and wastewater design/engineering performing studies design and construction services for municipal clients.
  • Demonstrated experience developing designs and construction contract documents for complex infrastructure projects.
  • Certifications Licenses: Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or working towards licensure preferred.
  • Client focused always striving to give clients the best solutions.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment we have provided the base compensation range of$101600 - $152400 annually for this position and local market.
