The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. The department oversees Government Operations such as building construction purchasing and contracting for goods and services maintaining facilities managing state vehicles acquiring and disposing of real property and operating auxiliary services such as courier mail delivery and the sale of state and federal surplus property. Additionally the department manages many of the states advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the states population that have been traditionally underserved.

Job Duties: To assist the Governors legal team with managing legal issues.
Major Task to be Performed: We anticipate interns being involved in the following: analysis of North CarolinaSupreme Court and US Supreme Court cases analysis of possible legislation stakeholder meetings policy-relatedresearch projects tracking legislation and litigation reporting research/assignments to other legal staff tracking executivebranch action in other states.
Final Product or Outcome Anticipated:
The expected outcome is that our interns will be effective members of the legal
team for the summer gaining experience reporting out in a legal staff meeting and familiarity with state government legal
structures.
Academic Majors Desired: 2L 3L law students.
2026 State of North Carolina Internship Period: Monday May 18 Friday July 24 2026
Completion of one year of law school is . Strong legal research and writingskills desired.
This position will close at 11:59 p.m. the night before the end date.
