The Employment Consultant will assist people to explore their vocational options gain and maintain employment as well as connecting with employers and other service providers.

We have an opportunity for an Employment Consultant to join our Jobconnect team. This is interesting and challenging work and to be effective you will need a range of organisational and interpersonal skills.
What youll be doing
- Connect with Employers build strong networks and advocate for clients
- Support Job Seekers prepare CVs applications and provide practical career guidance
- Plan for Success help clients set goals and take steps toward employment
- Stay Informed know the latest job opportunities training and community resources
- Facilitate Group learning & Promote Services lead sessions and represent Comcare at events
- Maintain Records keep accurate data and use systems effectively
- Commit to Growth engage in ongoing professional development
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in either mental health or the employment/ training sector
- Strong relationship building and networking skills
- The ability to work effectively with a variety of people
- Self-managing with high levels of organisation and work focus
- Ability to support people to explore options reach decisions and set goals
- Advocacy skills
- Understanding of mental health issues and their impacts
- Understanding of the barriers to employment and education
It is desirable that you have a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 - Mental Health and Addiction Support (or equivalent qualification) or are committed to studying towards one.
Applicants must hold a current full clean drivers license.
You will have a cultural awareness knowledge of and demonstrable commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Eligibility
Applicants for this position must have the legal right to work in NZ and consent to undergo a criminal record check process.
