BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:This is professional services work managing and coordinating marine resource management programs and directly contributing to the effective management of Maines valuable marine resources. This position is focused primarily on overseeing and administering the rule-making activities of the Department of Marine Resources in compliance with Maines Administrative Procedures Act including emergency rulemakings as required. The position is responsible for coordinating across Bureaus to develop proposed rulemakings in accordance with Department needs and for representing the Department at associated public hearings. The position interacts with the members of the DMR Advisory Council which has advice and consent authority over Department rulemaking. The position is forward facing and includes frequent communication with the fishing industry and other stakeholders. As time permits the position will also assist with specific tasks within the Division of Aquaculture as needed. Work is performed under limited supervision. The position reports to Augusta but remote work is possible with supervisor approval.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education training and/or experience demonstrating technical expertise in marine resource and aquaculture program management or development and implementation of complex marine resource focused conservation projects.
