Job Title: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Technologist (CST)
Location: Syracuse NY
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule Options:
Mid Shift: 1:00 PM 9:00 PM (58)
Day Shift: 7:00 AM 3:00 PM (58)
Hours: 40 Hours per Week
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $51/hr
Weekly Gross Pay: $2040
Weekly Stipend: $1120
Position Overview
A healthcare facility in Syracuse NY is seeking an experienced Certified OR Tech / Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical services by maintaining a safe sterile operating environment and assisting the surgical team throughout procedures.
Responsibilities
Prepare and set up the operating room prior to surgical procedures
Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized
Stock and organize surgical supplies and instruments
Maintain strict sterile technique throughout surgical cases
Assist surgeons and surgical team by passing instruments and supplies
Perform and document surgical counts (sponges instruments sharps)
Prepare patients for surgery including skin preparation and draping
Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs to ensure workflow efficiency
Monitor and maintain the sterile field before during and after surgery
Assist with room turnover and post-procedure cleanup
Adhere to patient safety infection control and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
Experience working in an operating room or surgical services setting
Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
