ISP Maintenance Role Profile

Purpose of Role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning safety and cleanliness of the schools facilities and equipment. This role supports a safe efficient and well-maintained environment for students staff and visitors by performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks in accordance with institutional standards.

ISP Maintanance Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on school buildings classrooms offices restrooms playgrounds and common areas.
  • Carry out basic repairs in electrical systems plumbing carpentry painting and general maintenance.
  • Ensure school facilities meet health safety and safeguarding standards at all times.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from teachers administrators and staff.
  • Support the setup and breakdown of classrooms and school events.
  • Inspect school equipment furniture and facilities to identify repair or safety needs.
  • Maintain maintenance tools equipment and storage areas in an organized and safe condition.
  • Report hazards damages or safety concerns to the Facilities Administrator or School Leadership.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory of maintenance supplies and request replacements when needed.
  • Collaborate with cleaning security and facilities teams to ensure smooth daily school operations.
  • Follow institutional policies child safeguarding procedures and health and safety regulations.

Skills Qualifications and Experience

Skills

  • Basic technical skills in electrical plumbing and general repairs.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Service-oriented and proactive attitude.

Qualifications

  • Technical training or vocational studies in maintenance mechanics or a related field (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of tools equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Safety training or certifications are an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in facilities administration or building management.
  • Experience in an educational corporate or service-oriented environment preferred.
  • Proven experience managing vendors maintenance teams and service contracts.
  • Experience handling budgets and operational planning.
  • Familiarity with health safety and regulatory compliance standards.
