The Vet Office is recruiting on behalf of a well-established progressive small animal practice in the Kildare area seeking an Experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a highly skilled and supportive veterinary and nursing team.
This role is ideal for a vet with a strong interest in small animal medicine and surgery who enjoys working to high clinical standards and being part of a collaborative well-run practice.
The Role
You will work as a key member of the clinical team delivering high-quality veterinary care while contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
Clinical Responsibilities

Diagnose treat and manage medical and surgical cases to a high standard

Take full responsibility for patient care including effective case handovers
-
Investigate and manage cases in-practice where appropriate before referral
-
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records
-
Prescribe and dispense medications safely and correctly
-
Promote preventative healthcare including health plans and insurance
-
Ensure transparency around diagnostics treatment plans and estimates
Client & Team Interaction
-
Deliver an outstanding client experience across all communication channels
-
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients to support informed decision-making
-
Work closely with veterinary nursing and support teams to ensure excellent patient care
-
Provide clinical guidance and training to colleagues where appropriate
Clinical & Professional Standards

Work in line with VCI regulations and professional conduct guidelines
-
Maintain VCI registration and CPD requirements
-
Uphold high standards of professionalism ethics and clinical governance
-
Support best practice protocols and continuous improvement
Candidate Profile
-
Veterinary degree recognised by the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI)
-
Minimum 3 years experience in small animal practice
-
Strong surgical skills appropriate to experience level
-
Confident clinical decision-maker with good time management
-
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
-
Comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a team environment
-
Professional motivated and conscientious approach to work
Further clinical qualifications or a strong interest in ongoing education are highly welcomed.
