About the Team and Role:
The AI (Artificial Intelligence) Security Engineer will play a crucial role in safeguarding eBays AI projects against emerging threats.
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual that will stay up to date with the latest in AI and cybersecurity developments advising our information security team and product teams on potential risks and contributing to the development of secure eBay AI systems.
Additionally this position is expected to assist in education around current AI Security methodologies.
What you will accomplish:
Conduct AI Security Assessments: Perform regular security assessments that can include threat modeling and architecture design reviews of AI systems and applications that can originate in-house or third parties.
Research and Analysis: Lead innovative research projects aimed at enhancing the security of AI features. This includes identifying vulnerabilities developing defenses against adversarial attacks and ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of model data. Analyze potential impacts on our AI projects and infrastructure.
Security Advising: Serve as an authority on AI security advising the information security team developers and project managers on standard processes and security measures.
Responsible AI (RAI): Contribute to RAI projects such as helping conduct AI Red Teaming of developed AI solutions focused on assessing security issues but also raising issues that do not align to our AI Principles.
Collaboration: Work closely with other groups such as RAI legal privacy and product teams to ensure a comprehensive security posture for all AI initiatives.
AI Model Development: Perform basic model training and fine-tuning to assist with AI security tasks including selecting proper model architecture sourcing & cleaning appropriate data and evaluating trained model performance.
Code Development: Create maintainable and well-documented tools to assist with common AI security tasks. Familiarity with use of AI coding assistants is preferable but not required.
What you will bring:
Minimum of 3 years in cybersecurity or AI role or related degree.
AI Security experience would be preferred but not essential.
Solid understanding of AI technologies and their security implications.
Solid understanding of good software development principles
Proficient in programming languages such as Python or Java.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving mentality.
Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical partners.
Continuous learner with a passion for staying ahead of security trends and technologies.
Familiarity with Cloud and Networking technologies and Data Regulatory Requirements would be a plus.
