What We Are Looking For:
This position is strongly suited for an individual who is seeking employment to administratively assist a variety of legal practices throughout the firm for the ideal period of May to August. The successful candidate will be self-motivated detail-oriented and have the ability to work independently. For optimal learning this opportunity will ideally be performed in-office.
Responsibilities:
- Manage/assist with the daily operation of a variety of legal practices
- Handle administrative details with respect to accounting opening and closing files docketing and billing etc.
- Prepare and complete all necessary correspondence and documentation
- Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients
- Able and willing to work in a variety of different practice areas
- Produce the highest quality of work
- Accountable for all work assigned
- Takes initiative
- Confidential
Requirements:
- Recently completed or currently completing post-secondary education in a law related field
- Previous legal assistant experience in Litigation Corporate and/or Real Estate is preferred
- Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands
Skills:
- Microsoft 365 suite of applications
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to problem solve
- Good judgement and decision making
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Organized
- Resourceful
- Detailed
Compensation:
Theâhourly rate for this position is $23.00-$25.00.
