Job Summary:
Responsible for developing and executing Canterbury Parks advertising and promotional strategies for Live Racing the Casino and special events to drive business growth and achieve marketing objectives. This includes planning and managing advertising campaigns promotions social media marketing materials (such as collateral signage and tickets) website content and more. Supports internal departments by planning and executing internal marketing campaigns as needed. Responsible for supporting the Companys mission vision and values by providing an unparalleled experience of fun and entertainment. Focuses on our core values to ensure exceptional service and engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads by example
- Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
- Creates high levels of morale fosters teamwork and inspires collaboration.
- Develop a wide range of marketing and gambling promotions and events to engage fans and drive visitors.
- Lead the planning implementation and execution of all live racing marketing while supporting the marketing and promotions for the Card Casino and Simulcast racebook.
- Manage Canterbury Park communication channels including e-mail marketing website digital signage and more managing workflows deadlines and approvals.
- Provide inspiration creative direction and copywriting for promotional assets ads and collateral.
- Lead Canterbury Park media buying process including budgeting media selection ad trafficking etc.
- Oversee the creation curation and publication of social media content across all platforms. Monitor social platforms in real time engaging directly with fans.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure all marketing being produced is on-brand at all times.
- Coordinate production of Canterburys live racing program program ad schedule and digital messaging schedule.
- Provide timely inter-office communication regarding promotions and marketing initiatives.
- Work with Director of Corporate Sponsorship to both enhance partnership opportunities and assist with sponsorship fulfillment.
- Design basic marketing assets as graphic design backup. These might include signs presentations and/or social assets.
- Provide clear leadership and mentorship to direct reports freelancers and agency partners.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Supervision:
- Graphic Designer Sign Shop Coordinator Summer interns
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a marketing-related field preferred with 68 years of experience in marketing advertising or promotions.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with strong leadership mentorship and team-development skills.
- Proven experience managing social media digital platforms and interactive technologies.
- Strong project management planning and organizational abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work evenings weekends and holidays as required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong professional interpersonal abilities.
- Must pass pre-employment screening including a criminal background check and work history verification.
- Must be able to obtain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- General knowledge of horse racing and card casino gaming.
- Basic design knowledge
