Description of Engagement
The Minnesota Department of Information Technology Services (MNIT) partnering with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is seeking one (1) full-time Salesforce Developer resource to develop new license types pertaining to dairy and meat inspection in MDAs Salesforce e-licensing solution.
- Over the past two years MDA has begun to modernize its licensing and inspection systems under the Salesforce Public Sector Solutions platform.
- This includes building a CRM and moving one license type into Salesforce with e-licensing capabilities.
- MDA is currently seeking to accelerate progress and build the functionality needed to implement several new license types in the Salesforce application.
- The work under this engagement will specifically focus on licensing for MDAs Dairy and Meat Inspection Division.
- Minn. Stat. 31A and 32D govern dairy and meat inspection ensuring that such products meet safety and quality standards and are properly labeled and licensed.
- The resource under this engagement will add dairy and meat inspection license types to the new licensing system to support compliance with these statutes.
The resource will develop both back-end and front-end licensing functionality in Salesforce for the following license types:
- Shell Egg/Poultry/Rabbits Exemption
- Wild Game Exemption
- Custom Exempt Meat Processor
- Bulk Milk Hauler
- The resource will work with a Salesforce Product Team (including Product Owner Scrum Master Business Analyst and other developer(s)) to implement the process requirements and designs in the Salesforce system.
Sample Tasks
- Build and implement the following four license types in the MDA Salesforce licensing system:
- Shell Egg/Poultry/Rabbits Exemption
- Wild Game Exemption
- Custom Exempt Meat Processor
- Bulk Milk Hauler
- Create and map out a scalable process and solution for future license types
- Review stories assigned for each sprint check acceptance criteria and confirm assumptions with Product Owner
- Attend daily stand-up meetings with the Salesforce Product Team which includes Product Owner Scrum Master Business Analyst and other developer(s)
- Participate in solution design sessions (e.g. reviewing workflows for a new license type)
- Build or update Salesforce Flows to support a licensing workflow
- Configure UI updates in Experience Cloud (new application forms document upload logic)
- Sync with QA engineers developer(s) Product Owner and Scrum Master on refinements or discovered issues
- Provide knowledge transfer to State team members
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
- Salesforce Public Sector Solutions experience in designing scalable licensing and permitting structures
- Experience in Salesforce integrations with multiple external systems including payment gateways and banking systems to streamline licensing and financial workflows
- Experience with Flows (record-triggered screen orchestrated) and Apex (classes triggers test classes)
- Experience with OmniStudio (FlexCards OmniScripts Dataraptors)
- Experience building Lightning Web Components (LWC) to enhance the Salesforce user interface and improve overall application performance
- Experience in data migration from legacy systems to Salesforce systems
- Experience building custom applications using declarative customization capabilities like Flows and App Builder to automate business processes and reduce manual effort
- Experience in Salesforce Experience Cloud Service Cloud and Field Service
- Salesforce certifications: Certified Administrator Service Cloud Experience Cloud and/or Platform Developer 1
