Job Summary

**Job Specific Details and Tasks:**

The Health Care Worker (HCW) is responsible for executing a comprehensive range of laboratory procedures both automated and manual across various disciplines including chemistry urinalysis hematology serology bacteriology and immunohematology in strict adherence to established standard operating protocols.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assessing specimen suitability for analyses ensuring preservation of the physiologic state prior to processing.

- Preparing specimens reagents and primary reference materials as needed for testing.

- Calibrating standardizing and maintaining laboratory instruments. This includes performing quality control checks to ensure optimal operation and identifying diagnosing and remedying common malfunctions.

- Obtaining and recording analytical data converting results into the required reporting units and correlating findings to validate test results.

- Executing quality control procedures across all equipment reagents and products and maintaining meticulous records for quality control and assurance documentation.

**Work Schedule:**The HCW will work a flexible schedule from Sunday to Saturday covering 8 to 10 hours per day between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM not exceeding a total of 40 hours per week.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

**Education:** A Bachelors Degree in a relevant Science discipline plus graduation from an accredited medical laboratory science program (military or civilian) recognized by NAACLS or ABHES or acceptable to ASCP or AMT.- **Experience:** A minimum of one year of relevant experience as stipulated in the task order.-

**Board Certification:** Must be certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT).

- **Life Support Certification:** Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from either the AHA or ARC.

- **Security Clearance:** Must be able to successfully pass a government background check and obtain security clearance.
