Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Health Visitor (LHV) or Midwife for one of our healthcare center in Islamabad. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality maternal and newborn care supporting women through pregnancy childbirth and the postpartum period. The LHV/Midwife will play a central role in promoting maternal health delivering evidence-based care and contributing to positive birth outcomes. Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive prenatal intrapartum and postnatal care to expectant and new mothers.
- Conduct regular health assessments monitor fetal development and manage low-risk pregnancies.
- Assist in labor and delivery procedures under supervision ensuring safe and supportive childbirth experiences.
- Monitor maternal and neonatal vital signs identify complications early and initiate timely interventions.
- Educate expectant parents on pregnancy childbirth newborn care breastfeeding and postpartum recovery.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records including patient histories care plans and delivery notes.
- Collaborate with obstetricians nurses pediatricians and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
- Promote health and wellness through community outreach antenatal classes and preventive care initiatives.
- Adhere to hospital protocols infection control standards and national maternal health guidelines.
- Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response as required
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Midwifery or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Valid license to practice as a Licensed Health Visitor (LHV) or Midwife in Pakistan.
- 13 years of hands-on experience in hospital-based maternity care preferably in a clinical or labor ward setting.
- Proven ability to manage high-pressure situations with composure and clinical judgment.
- Strong knowledge of antenatal intrapartum and postnatal care protocols and guidelines.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and patient education skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and healthcare documentation.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights weekends and on-call duties.
- Valid CNIC and eligibility to work in Islamabad.
