Job Summary

INDUSTRIAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE (Permanent)
Our client an established manufacturing/distribution organization headquartered in WNY is looking to hire an Industrial Sales Representative to join their growing team. This role is based out of Rochester NY and oversees the WNY & Central NY territories (i.e. Buffalo Rochester Syracuse). This position will take over a large established territory that will be open due to an upcoming retirement.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage an established territory of long-term customers while continuing to build out new business and increase sales
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with customers to enhance experiences identify ways to up-sell / cross-sell
  • Visit customers manufacturing facilities to gain an understanding of their industrial operations and identify needs/challenges/sales opportunities
  • Create relationships with engineering maintenance operations and purchasing team members at each customer site in order to tailor sales approaches specific to each
  • Remain up-to-date on product lines through sales training participating in various training sessions attending conferences technical training etc.
  • Act as technical expert to customers and provide technical product knowledge and solutions
  • Collaborate with sales support team members and upper leadership to enhance the sales experience and drive business
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned/as necessary


Details:

  • Position is full-time direct hire
  • Travel throughout Rochester Buffalo & Syracuse markets
  • Ability to work remote when not traveling to customer sites
  • Guaranteed salary of $70000 - $125000 base depending on experience during ramp-up period then transitions to 100% commission based with uncapped commission potential
  • Full benefits package
  • College degree preferred but not required
  • 2 years Industrial Sales experience; technically inclined
  • Extensive training including manufacturer programs conferences and technical learning opportunities provided by company
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal); strong relationship building skills
  • Strong organization skills and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated driven energetic pro-active
  • Relocation not available
